Its been a really long time.....hello, again :)

Over the last few years life has had it's twists and turns.  Some foreseen, others not.  Some really fantastic things, and some very tough things.  Such is life.  There have been many health challenges for my husband and I.  Yet, through it all we've held on to love and I've tried my best to keep sight of hope.  It has been very challenging at times to stay hopeful, yet thankfully with good friends, amazing family,  a wonderful husband and 4 beautiful children that light up my life have helped me to reclaim a bit more hope today than I had even yesterday.

I have learned so much over the last few years on many different fronts that have all played a part in my making baby step changes towards a more balanced and healthy life.  Small baby steps over many years.  So, today I look back and I see that I am making quite different choices for me and my family that I thoroughly believe are healthier for us.  At first some changes were very hard, overwhelming, and I was clueless on how to successfully make changes.

For example, I am now far more educated about what is in the foods and drinks that my family consumes as well as what we put on and in our bodies.  I've learned about countless terribly toxic ingredients that are in our foods/drinks etc...  Once I began learning about these things I couldn't turn back.  It changed me.  And, slowly, over time I learned how to make small changes.

The first moment I recall learning about our food system was by watching a short TED talk given by Robyn O'Brien.  She's a mom who had her child's face swell up while eating a typical breakfast meal one very unexpected morning and she was thrown into the world of food allergies that she knew nothing about.  It set her on a path to find out why her little girl got so sick.  She has since learned a tremendous amount and I now follow her on Facebook to learn about advances being made to make our foods healthier for us.   If interested you can view it for yourself here....if the link doesn't work then just google: Robyn O'brien Ted talk and it will show you link.

I also follow her on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Robyn-OBrien/93865123205

Well, I have so much more I hoped to share in this post but this is all I have time for now.  I often share Robyn's posting on FB to spread the word about how we can make informed decisions on what we are eating.  She states something along the lines of:  "What if each one of us just did one thing to make a difference?"  Well, perhaps this is my one thing......

Hugs.....
